This option is only available
for redundant controller subsystems. To access the redundant controller settings,
click the Redundant tab under the Configuration Parameters
panel.
Redundant Controller
Communication Channel: this field is set to display only the type of
communication channel used internally between the redundant controllers.
Seccondary Controller RS-232 Terminal: In a redundant controller
configuration, the RS-232C port on the secondary controller is normally nonfunctional.
Enable this function if you wish to use the port on a secondary controller for
debug purpose.
Remote Redundant Controller: This option allows redundant controllers
to communicate over an FC link strung remotely in between. This option requires
special hardware implementations. Please contact Infortrend support representative
for more details.
Cache Synchronization on Write-Through: If controllers are operating
using the Write-Through caching mode, the synchronized cache operation can be
manually disabled to save the system resources spent on mirroring cached data.
Disabling the synchronization cache may help bring a better performance.
If the synchronization cache is disabled, the configuration changes made through
the primary controller is still communicated to the secondary controller.
Adaptive Write Policy: This option allows temporary switch
between two caching modes when dealing with I/Os of different characteristics.
With redundant controllers serving sequential writes, write-back policy is temporarily
switched to write-through.
