Hiperlan (High PErformance Radio Local Area Network) is a Wireless LAN of
course. Search www.etsi.org (european telecommunication standardization 
institution) standards online for specifications. 

Should be fast enough for most uses (~25Mbps), so you'd get even DVB
broadcasts through this system. Frequency of operation is 5/10GHz. 
Don't remember whether these spec were for type 1 or type 2 though...

Propably all standards and specifications are available free of charge at
www.etsi.org, at least i managed to download ~10Mb worth of .pdfs. Takes a
while to read those well through.
