It may be a good exercise to examine if it may be better to port your code
from x86 to OpenRISC or other processor core. Many embedded processors have
a C compiler so to some degree you have portability of source code. However,
if you are trying to install and run a Win32 Windows application into an
emulated Windows environment then you would need emulation. Transmeta does
this quite well.

What about yield?

The idea of OpenRISC is price = $0. So even if the processor executed one
instruction cycle per day the price/performance ratio would favor the
OpenRISC. However, the price of the processor is not the only price to be
factored into your equation. Also, your application may have a minimum level
of performance to meet.
