Hotel Information: ----------------- Radisson Hotel Phone: 800-333-3333 or 613-783-4200 100 Kent Street FAX: 613-783-4229 Ottawa Ontario K1P 5R7 Make your reservations by calling one of the above numbers. Please mention IEEE 802.1 in order to receive the established conference rate of $99 CDN. While the cutoff date for guaranteed availability of rooms is Sept 9, please try to make your reservations earlier. 35 rooms have been guaranteed by Plaintree Systems based on announced intentions of individuals responding to the email query on planned attendance. However the rate will be available as long as rooms are, even if the total exceeds the number guaranteed. I suspect that 35 is a low number, which is all the more reason to make your reservations early. A meeting room for 100 has been reserved, and a breakout room for 20. Copy facilities will be available. A buffet continental breakfast will be served outside the main meeting room on each day. There will be a social evening hosted by Plaintree on the evening of Wednesday, October 2. Some Local Information: ---------------------- Ottawa is the capital of Canada. Population of metro area is about 800,000. Ottawa is located about 70 miles from the border between Canada and New York state, 120 miles west of Montreal, 250 miles north east of Toronto. It is easy to reach by air via Boston, Chicago, New York, Montreal, or Toronto. The meeting will be held in a hotel with good facilities in downtown Ottawa. The weather in Ottawa will be very similar to New England weather at that time, so should be very nice, barring rain. There are many good restaurants in downtown Ottawa.
